Individual psychotherapy and counseling are methods used to resolve or reduce behaviors, beliefs, compulsions, thoughts, or emotions that are getting in the way of successful relationships and social functioning, and keep you from experiencing a sense of well-being and mental health. Often these are referred to as “Talk Therapy.”
The foundation for this type of therapy is based on the core belief that talking about the things that are bothering you can help clarify them, sort them out, put them in perspective, and then allows you to discover ways to understand them, manage them, and feel empowered to make necessary changes.
While working together, my own relationship skills, along with my education, knowledge, life experience, and skill allow me to assess, utilize treatment principles and techniques, and to assist you in coming to answers and decisions that are yours.
Individual therapy allows the therapist and client to focus on each other, building a rapport and working together to solve the client's issue. It is a unique
relationship of one to one and in itself is educational by practicing directly how to be in a healthy relationship. I offer a comfortable, down to earth atmosphere, where open communication is welcomed and provides the best outcome.
